Our Origins & Brief History
Dev Tempopoint was established in 2019 in Sanchong District, New Taipei City, by principal release architect Zhihao Chen. Having spent over a decade leading deployment bridges, database migrations, and release coordination across mission-critical enterprise systems, Zhihao recognized that software delivery failures rarely stemmed from syntax bugs in isolated code modules. Instead, production outages repeatedly occurred during the uncoordinated friction of deployment bridges: conflicting schema migrations, unverified staging parity, and vague rollback decision gates.
Between 2019 and 2022, Dev Tempopoint operated as a focused cutover advisory partner for regional logistics networks and financial transaction processors across the Taipei metropolitan area and Hsinchu Science Park. In these demanding environments, even a 10-minute unexpected outage during overnight batch settlement carries severe commercial and contractual consequences.
By 2024, our practice expanded its engagement frameworks to address multi-service container releases, automated merge train architectures, and the modernization of legacy Change Advisory Boards (CAB). Today, Dev Tempopoint stands as Taiwan's dedicated independent advisory firm focused exclusively on the governance, safety, and operational choreography of production software releases.
Our Core Engineering Philosophy
We approach software release management not as an administrative ticketing bottleneck, but as an exact operational discipline. Our work is guided by three non-negotiable principles:
- Deterministic Rollbacks Over Heroic Hotfixes: A deployment candidate must never be promoted to production without a verified, single-step rollback pathway. If an automated rollback cannot be executed cleanly in under two minutes, the release is structurally incomplete.
- Expand-and-Contract State Evolution: State mutation must always be separated from application deployment. Database schemas must support both the current release and previous release versions concurrently.
- Quantitative Risk Scoring Over Bureaucracy: We believe lengthy Change Advisory Board meetings do not make releases safer. We replace subjective debates with mathematical blast-radius calculations, automated CI test assertions, and verified staging rehearsal telemetry.
Consulting Leadership
Zhihao Chen
Founder & Principal Release ArchitectZhihao leads high-stakes cutover war rooms and architectural audits for Dev Tempopoint clients. With extensive experience in database locking dynamics, distributed event streaming cutovers, and zero-downtime blue/green deployment orchestration, he serves as primary advisor to engineering directors across Taiwan.
Local Engagement & Delivery Standards
Based at No.28, Sec 5, Zhonghua Rd in Sanchong District, New Taipei City, we work closely with engineering departments throughout northern Taiwan for on-site war room facilitation, while delivering secure, credential-restricted remote audits for organizations across Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung.
